There’s the lapis lazuli vein, and there’s the gold vein, and there’s the silver, and they keep digging in that mine until it gets to the other side of the mountain. So they may get a little lapis one day, a little gold another, a little silver, a little malchite or mica another day. They’re always pulling different things out of the mine. So it may seem like [the works are] disparate, but the artists have been digging in the same mine.”
