Bart Schneider and Catherine Durand founded Kelly’s Cove Press in the fall of 2011 in their home in Berkeley, California. Although based in Berkeley, Kelly’s Cove Press is named after a stretch at the northern end of Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
As publisher, Schneider chooses and develops the book projects, while Durand runs the business side of the small operation.
Schneider was the founding editor of two literary/culture magazines, Hungry Mind Review and Speakeasy. He has published five novels and two books of poetry. You can find more about his work at SchneiderLit.com.
Durand, who hails from France, is a textile artist whose work has been shown around the Bay Area. You can find out more about her work and current projects at TextileMavens.com.
The fourteen books published to date have focused exclusively on California writers and artists. All of the covers and the interior art in the books are drawn from the work of California painters.
In a time when publishers are scrambling to establish their digital presence, Kelly’s Cove Press believes that readers will continue to treasure fine writing and art in beautifully designed, offset-printed editions.
